Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance/Deputy Treasurer, the Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for all accounts receivable functions, the issuing and receipt of miscellaneous accounts receivable invoices as well as all overseeing and verifying accuracy of figures, calculations and postings pertaining to all business transactions including the front counter.
- Ensure that all revenues are accurately posted to the general ledger, prepares and posts adjusting entries as required
- Prepare the daily bank deposits of all non-tax accounts including the daily balancing of cash receipts
- Provide monthly or quarterly billing of revenue as per municipal lease agreements
- Maintain records of receivable vendors
- Issue invoices for municipal service charges as required by various departments and carry out related record keeping and follow-up activities
- Respond to enquiries related to accounts receivable functions
- Receive and record grants from other governments, planning fees and other charges for services of other departments
- Maintain petty cash fund
- Maintain the on-going reconciliation of Capital development levies received during the year and outward transfer required to fund growth projects
- Work closely with the Building department to reconcile all building permit fees received, also adjusting for refunds and cancelled permits
- Assist with general inquiries and reception duties at the front counter as required
- Participate in year-end audit process
- Prepare reports as required by the Director and Deputy Director of Finance
- Act as back-up Municipal Tax Collector as required

Education/Specialized Training/Skills:
- Post-Secondary education in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- AMCTO Municipal Administration Program (MAP) and Municipal Administration Finance Program (MAFP) desirable, or willingness to obtain
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment and demonstrated experience with database management and billing software. VADIM experience considered an asset
Work Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a financial setting
- Valid and satisfactory Police Records Check
- Public sector or municipal experience
- Demonstrated superior customer service, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to balance diverse, changing and conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Strong team and leadership abilities
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $52,998.00 to $66,230.00 based on a thirty-five-hour work week. Standard hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm.
