The North Grenville Fire Service is hosting its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Station 1, Kemptville.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The focus is on raising awareness about the safe use, charging, storage, and disposal of lithium-ion batteries commonly found in household devices.

The Open House is a free, family-friendly event with activities and demonstrations, including:

• Touch a Truck – explore fire trucks and equipment
• Meet Sparky the Fire Dog
• Fire extinguisher demonstrations
• Cooking fire safety demonstrations
• Information on smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
• Food and refreshments
• Meet and greet with North Grenville’s firefighters

Parking Notice: There will be no parking at the fire station. Parking will be available at the North Grenville Municipal Centre (NGMC).
