2026 Downtown Kemptville Community Improvement Plan Intake Opens April 16
North Grenville, ON – Financial incentives are once again available to support businesses and property owners in advancing Downtown Kemptville’s continued revitalization.
Since Council approved the Downtown Kemptville Community Action Plan (DKCAP) and a refreshed Community Improvement Plan (CIP) in 2021, these initiatives have continued to drive progress toward key goals - focusing on connectivity and people to support further development in the core.
“Downtown Kemptville is an important part of our community, with lively events, heritage buildings and vibrant businesses. We recognize how much people enjoy connecting in our downtown. Programs like the CIP enable businesses to leverage their own resources and make their investments in commercial or residential properties go that much further,” said Mayor Nancy Peckford.
“The Downtown Kemptville Community Investment Program aligns with the municipality’s broader goals of sustainable growth and economic resilience. Through targeted incentives, we are enabling development that enhances the downtown core and contributes to long-term community vitality,” said CAO Karen Dunlop.
As part of ongoing CIP efforts, intake is now open for the following financial programs:
- Façade & Signage Grant: Covers 50% of eligible costs, up to $10,000, for high-quality improvements to building frontages.
- People Make the Place Grant: Provides $5,000 per residential unit created through multi-unit residential development.
- Building Fees Grant: Offers up to $2,500 to help offset building fees for multi-unit residential projects.
- Tax-Increment Equivalent Residential Grant: Provides reimbursement of the municipal portion of incremental property tax for new multi-unit residential developments, starting at 90% and decreasing by 10% annually.
The Development Charges Exemption currently remains in place for the downtown area.
Intake opens and will remain open on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.
